SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN TOURISM AND RECREATION: INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES AND ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACHES
Abstract
Sustainable development in the tourism and recreation sector is one of the key areas of the modern economy, ensuring a balance between economic, environmental and social aspects. The use of innovative technologies and ecological approaches helps to reduce the negative impact of tourism activities on the environment and improves the quality of tourism services. Innovations in tourism cover a wide range of technological, managerial and organisational changes that contribute to the development of the industry and its adaptation to new conditions. They help to improve the tourist experience, make the industry more competitive, sustainable and interactive. Innovations also allow tourism to play an important role in the economic development of regions and contribute to the preservation of cultural and natural heritage. The purpose of the article is to analyse the introduction of innovative technologies and environmental solutions in the field of tourism and recreation to achieve sustainable development. The relevance of the topic is due to the growing need to green the tourism business, adapt to climate change, and increase the demand for responsible travel among consumers. The study uses the methods of scientific literature analysis, comparative analysis of innovative solutions in the field of tourism and recreation, as well as case studies to study successful sustainable tourism practices in different countries. The results obtained show that the use of modern technologies, such as digitalisation of tourism services, environmentally friendly transport and renewable energy sources, significantly contributes to the sustainable development of the tourism and recreation industry. It is also found that enterprises that implement the principles of the circular economy have competitive advantages and increase customer loyalty. The practical significance of the article lies in the formation of recommendations for representatives of the tourism industry on the effective implementation of innovative approaches that will contribute to the environmental sustainability and economic efficiency of tourism enterprises.
