PEST ANALYSIS OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article analyzes Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses. Foreign experience is considered. A PEST analysis was carried out to determine the state of Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses in recent years. The main factors that pose a threat to enterprises and the factors that open up the greatest opportunities for enterprises are determined. The influence of the political situation on the development of small and medium-sized businesses is shown. The analysis of the main trends in foreign trade in goods of Ukraine is carried out. The indicators of the unemployed and employed population are considered in the context of the impact on the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Among the negative trends, it should be noted that during 2020, the savings of Ukrainians decreased, and expenditures exceeded revenues. A group of social factors is also considered, namely, the honesty and transparency of doing business, the demographic situation, trends in the field of higher education. Educational trends in higher education are determined by general trends in the modern world. Main trends: increasing the percentage of educated population in all corners of the globe, equal access to quality education for all, strengthening the role of the state in ensuring equity in education, efficient and effective use of education expenditures, humanization and democratization of education, updating forms and means of education, increasing the professional competence of teachers. On the basis of PEST-analysis, a summary of the negative and positive factors in the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine in the period from 2019 was made. to 2021 p. In order to fulfill their main function of ensuring economic growth, small and medium-sized enterprises must create new jobs and provide employment for the majority of the population, but in Ukraine the number of employees in small and medium-sized enterprises has decreased. The experience of most developed countries shows that the most important aspect for the development of small and medium enterprises is state support.
