CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO ASSESSING THE EFFICIENCY OF AN ENTERPRISE'S BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Abstract

The article highlights the current problems of assessing the effectiveness of enterprise business process management. It is determined that the issue of forming universal approaches to assessing the effectiveness of enterprise business processes, which would include known models, methods, tools, indicators, and also take into account the specifics of various industries and modern challenges of digitalization, remains unresolved. Four groups of approaches to assessing the effectiveness of business process management have been formed, and their key characteristics, main indicators, and tools have been identified. These groups of approaches include: metric-oriented approaches, which focus on quantitative indicators, such as KPI, ROI, EVA, to ensure the objectivity of assessment and support for management decisions; process-oriented approaches aimed at analyzing and optimizing the internal structure of processes (CMMI, process mining) to increase operational efficiency; value-oriented approaches, which emphasize the creation of value for customers and stakeholders through NPS, CSI and functional-cost analysis; integrated and systemic approaches based on comprehensive analysis (BSC, TQM) taking into account financial, customer, process and innovation aspects. Each group of approaches has its own target direction and purpose for assessing the business processes of the enterprise. Metric-oriented approaches are focused on owners and investors, providing a quantitative basis for assessing economic feasibility. Process-oriented approaches serve managers for structural optimization and eliminating "bottlenecks". Value-oriented approaches are focused on customers and partners, promoting long-term relationships and loyalty. Integrated approaches are important for top management, ensuring strategic balance and sustainability. In the context of each group of approaches, the interests of interested parties (stakeholders) are considered, including owners, managers, customers, and society, which emphasizes the multifaceted nature of the assessment. Further research suggests focusing on developing universal models with the integration of artificial intelligence to predict performance and adapt to a changing business environment.
