CAPABILITIES OF MODERN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES FOR AUTOMATING THE DESIGN PROCESS OF HOTEL ESTABLISHMENTS

Abstract

Creating a unique and modern hotel design is crucial in order to stand out in the crowded market of hospitality industry. However, the design process itself is a complex task that requires taking into account multiple issues, starting from the desires of the target audience and all the way to regional building regulations. Thus the goal of this study was to analyze the modern computer software from the point of view of using to automate the complicated process of designing hotel establishments. 3D-rendering is an essential tool that allows to digitally represent interior or exterior design of a building as an accurate and realistic 3D model that can be quickly and easily adjusted, which allows designers to experiment with different design elements. It can also help to identify potential design flaws before the construction begins, which can save time and money during the construction process. The technology of building information modeling allows to create a “smart” architectural model that is capable of detecting any conflicts or clashes between the different elements it is composed of. Lastly, 3D-rendering can create a unique and memorable advertisement for future guests, showcasing unique features and amenities of the hotel. Through interactive virtual tours, potential customers can “visit” the hotel by exploring its virtual simulation. There exists a wide variety of design software, but the most common features needed for hospitality industry are extensive object libraries of 3D models, textures, and materials; the tools for architectural, interior, and landscaping design; advanced rendering capabilities to create different types of visualizations for design concepts; intuitive interface with an easily edited model; real time collaboration with team members and clients; advanced analytical tools for assessing energy efficiency, budget costs, and identifying any issues in different systems of the building. Using 3D-rendering allows to speed up the design process, visualize the future hotel before it is constructed, detect possible flaws to avoid costly mistakes, and showcase its features to attract investors and guests.
