IMPROVEMENT OF THE LABOR PROTECTION SYSTEM IN THE FIELD OF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT BUSINESS

Abstract

The article is devoted to considering the implementation of changes in the field of labor protection in the hotel and restaurant industry, which is developing together with society. The relationship between the employer and the workers in the context of the latter's implementation of the constitutional right to protect their life and health in the course of labor activity, taking into account the trends of the emergence of new risks at the workplace, was studied. In the process of working on the article, such research methods as empirical were applied, thanks to which facts were obtained during observations; theoretical, which made it possible to identify functional relations of dependence between the studied phenomena and processes, as well as the method of expert evaluations, by applying which it was possible to obtain prognostic information based on the identification and elaboration of the approaches of various experts. It has been established that the policy of non-discrimination of employees in the process of recruitment and in the process of their labor activity is an important criterion for compliance with socially, ethically and legally developed standards. It has been proven that the norms of the Law of Ukraine «On Labor Protection» and the Code of Labor Laws of Ukraine are incomplete and in some parts archaic. The need for development of draft laws by state authorities to prevent possible problems related to non-compliance with labor protection regulations has been established. It has been proven that most of the modern trends in the improvement of labor protection are caused by the dynamic development of society, the introduction of new technologies and the desire of employers to optimize their business in the hospitality industry. Although employers are primarily responsible for ensuring that occupational health and safety measures are in place to meet the requirements of applicable legislation and to fulfill their social and ethical responsibilities to employees, it cannot be denied that they also benefit economically from investments in the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases. The practical value of the article is that the traditional idea that improving employee safety at the workplace is an additional financial burden for the employer is gradually being replaced by an approach that assumes the support of the professional well-being of employees as an integral component of the economic sustainability and organizational development of the enterprise.
