INTEGRATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INTO PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to study the importance of integrating sustainable development in companies and in their project management, as well as to analyze project methodologies aimed at increasing the sustainability of project management. Sustainable development is receiving increasing attention not only in the issues of effective management of organizations, but also in project management. Companies that seek to maintain high competitive positions in the market are constantly introducing innovations, implementing various projects. Therefore, it is relevant to study the integration of sustainable development in project management. The article analyzes the overall level of progress of Ukraine in achieving sustainable development goals based on the SDG index, as well as the Ukrainian Business Activity Index UBI. Although the valuesof these indicators are quite low, it is noted that despite the difficult operating conditions, Ukrainian business continues to demonstrate high social responsibility. The article states that, given the active innovation activity associated with the implementation of various projects by companies, it is critically important to determine the parameters for evaluating projects not only by their financial results, but also by the environmental and social impact they have. For the effective integration of sustainable development, the development of methods and tools for assessing sustainable development at the project level is important and necessary. The article considers the PRiSM methodology, which is aimed at helping companies integrate project processes with sustainable initiatives. The article conducts a comparative analysis of project activities at certain phases of the life cycle and project artifacts according to the PRiSM methodology and the PMBOK standard. The article proposes to supplement the organization's chosen approaches to project management by establishing additional project objectives and P5 Impact Analysis, as well as forming a Sustainability Management Plan. This approach will help integrate sustainability into project management.
