BUSINESS PROCESSES AS AN OBJECT OF SIMULATION MODELING
Abstract
The article discusses the importance of analyzing and improving business processes in the context of modern business, which is characterized by complexity and dynamism. It is emphasized that traditional analysis methods are often insufficient for a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of business processes, therefore, simulation modeling is becoming increasingly important. The purpose of the article is to reveal the essence and tools of simulation modeling for analyzing, improving, and optimizing business processes. A business process is defined as a structured and measurable set of actions aimed at achieving a specific result for a client or market. It is characterized by a clear sequence of steps, the transformation of input data into output, and contribution to achieving organizational goals. Business processes are classified according to various criteria by strategic importance and contribution to the value chain. There is main, auxiliary, and management processes. Simulation modeling is considered a powerful tool for analyzing and improving business processes. It allows you to create a simplified representation of a real system and experiment with it to study behavior under different conditions. Among the advantages of simulation modeling are the ability to analyze complex systems, conduct "what-if" analysis, identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, reduce risk, and visualize results. The process of applying simulation modeling includes defining goals, collecting data, developing a model, verifying and validating, experimenting, and analyzing results. Various simulation modeling software products, such as AnyLogic, Arena Simulation, Simio, and SimPy, are reviewed, along with their features and capabilities. Simulation modeling is an effective tool for analyzing and improving business processes. It allows organizations to obtain valuable information about their operations, identify problem areas, and make informed decisions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction. The choice of specific software depends on the needs of the project, the complexity of the processes, and the technical skills of the users.
