METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO ASSESSING THE LEVEL OF FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC SECURITY OF INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES
Abstract
This article analyzes the main methods of assessing the level of financial and economic security of industrial (machine-building) enterprises for 2013-2023. The dynamics of net profit of industrial (machine-building) enterprises for 2013-2023 is analyzed. The level of financial and economic security of machine-building enterprises is determined on the example of PJSC “Kharkiv Tractor Plant” and JSC “Ukrainian Power Machines” for 2022-2023. It is determined that despite the war and a decrease in the number of machine-building enterprises in 2023, we can observe profits, which affected both the financial results and the strengthening of their financial and economic security. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the key methods proposed for assessing financial and economic security are identified. The methods for assessing the financial and economic security of enterprise, which will allow to comprehensively assess the financial and economic security of enterprise, are analyzed: assessment of financial and economic indicators of enterprise and determination of the integral indicator using the Altman model. Two enterprises of the industrial sector, in particular, the machine-building industry, are studied to assess the level of financial and economic security and a comprehensive assessment of the financial and economic indicators of the enterprise and the level of bankruptcy is carried out. It has been found that the probability of bankruptcy of PJSC “Kharkiv Tractor Plant” is very high, since the enterprise has a high retained loss, which indicates that its expenses are higher than its income. It has been studied that the level of bankruptcy of JSC “Ukrainian Power Machines” is low, which has a positive impact on the overall state of financial and economic security. Recommendations for improving the activities of the studied enterprises have been developed. A mechanism for managing the financial and economic security of machine-building enterprises is proposed, the implementation of which in the business processes of the enterprise will prevent the onset of the crisis and increase the financial and economic stability and overall level of security.
