THE ROLE OF TOUR OPERATORS IN PROMOTING PEACE AND STABILITY THROUGH MILITARY TOURISM
Abstract
The aim of this scientific article is to explore the importance of tour operators in promoting peace and stability through the development and implementation of military tourism-related products. The research methodology is based on a critical analysis of the development of military tourism, the use of inductive and deductive methods, as well as the study of successful cases of military tourism in different countries. The study highlights the significance of the terms "peace" and "stability" in the context of the role of tour operators in the development and promotion of military tours in the market. Based on scientific research, the article analyzes the specific features of military tourism and its subtypes. It examines the role of tour operators in the development of this type of tourism and emphasizes that the implementation of tourist products promoting military tourism has a positive impact on the promotion of peace and stability. The cases of countries and regions utilizing military tourism for achieving peace and stability in regions affected by military aggression or ongoing military operations are thoroughly examined. The article outlines forms of cooperation between tour operators, military structures, and local administrative bodies, which can contribute to ensuring the safety of tourists, increasing awareness of peace, and promoting stability in regions that are attractive for the development of military tourism. Ethical aspects to be considered in the development of military tourism are identified, highlighting the importance for tour operators to provide adequate interpretation of historical events, avoid glamorous or commercialized approaches to military history, and show respect for memorial sites and monuments. The potential prospects of military tourism development and its role in promoting peace and stability are characterized. The article includes an analysis of various scientific sources, literature, and publications related to military tourism. It provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of this type of tourism and highlights its potential in promoting peace and stability. Specifically, it investigates the influence of military tourism in supporting cultural diversity, fostering understanding among nations, facilitating dialogue, and promoting cultural convergence.
