MODERN APPROACHES TO THE DISCLOSURE OF THE ACCOUNTING POLICY OF THE BUSINESS PROCESSES OF STONE, SAND AND CLAY EXTRACTION IN GRANITE QUARRIES OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The article is devoted to the disclosure of the accounting policy of the business processes of stone, sand and clay extraction in granite quarries of Ukraine. It was found that the extraction of non-metallic minerals for construction purposes, in particular granite, is related to KVED 08.11 "Extraction of decorative and building stone, limestone, gypsum, chalk and shale" and 08.12 "Extraction of sand, gravel, clay and kaolin". The output of finished products in terms of types and quality characteristics depends on the used method of rock extraction in granite quarries: stone-cutting, air cushion, burocline, explosive using mixtures (quiet blasting) or explosives (loud blasting). It has been established that the accounting policy is a combination of the most rational accounting and reporting rules selected from the list of alternative options regulated by the current legislation, which takes into account the sectoral features of the enterprise, its size, scope of activity, sales markets and allows to reflect the expected economic benefits from the use of resources in accordance with the development strategy that corresponds to the interests of the owners. According to the results of the study of the content of the internal administrative documents regarding the accounting policy of 10 domestic granite quarries, the following common features were established: approaches to the assessment of fixed assets and intangible assets upon receipt at original cost and the straight-line method of calculating depreciation. At the investigated enterprises, the materiality criteria for the revaluation index have not been specified. Specific elements of the accounting policy of mining enterprises contained in their internal administrative documents were identified: the procedure for the formation and use of provision for land reclamation; expenses for excavation works and their distribution between stocks and assets of excavation works; development costs; exploration costs; a separate object of intangible assets "Costs for excavation works"; a separate item of fixed assets "Costs for restoration of territories (quarry reclamation)".
