RISK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AS A DETERMINANT OF THE RESILIENCE OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES’ ECONOMIC POTENTIAL

Abstract

The article examines the role of the risk management system as a key factor in ensuring the resilience and reproduction of the economic potential of agricultural enterprises under conditions of increasing uncertainty in the external environment. It is substantiated that modern agricultural enterprises operate within a complex, multi-level risk landscape shaped by economic instability, market volatility, climate change, military actions, and logistical constraints, which are further exacerbated by internal managerial, human resource, and technological challenges. In such an environment, the ability of an enterprise to timely identify risks, assess their impact, and make well-grounded managerial decisions determines the level of its economic adaptability and sustainable development. The study reveals the essence of economic potential as an integrated set of resources and managerial capabilities of an enterprise, the realization of which largely depends on the quality of the risk management system. It is proven that risks affect not only the current performance of agricultural enterprises but also directly determine the possibilities for reproducing and expanding their economic potential in the medium and long term. The necessity of forming an integrated risk management system is substantiated, as such a system ensures a coherent interconnection between threat identification processes, analytical support for managerial decision-making, and mechanisms for preserving and developing economic potential. A conceptual model of the risk management system is proposed, based on the interaction between risk sources, information systems, managerial mechanisms, and outcomes in the form of strengthened economic potential of the enterprise. It is demonstrated that the integration of ERP systems, business analytics tools, predictive modeling, and digital management platforms forms a unified information framework within which risk management is transformed from a reactive function into a strategic element of the overall management system. This creates prerequisites for increasing the adaptability of agricultural enterprises, rational use of resources, and the formation of resilient business models under conditions of digital transformation of the agricultural sector.
