ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN FOREIGN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY: CURRENT STATE, CHALLENGES, AND PROSPECTS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the current state, identification of key problems, and determination of the development prospects of Ukrainian entrepreneurship in foreign economic activity (FEA). The article reviews the main trends in global trade, highlighting its steady growth and the significant increase in the share of services in the overall trade volume. It emphasizes that over the past two decades, global trade has expanded substantially, creating both unprecedented opportunities and new challenges for entrepreneurs. The processes of adaptation of Ukrainian exports to the complex conditions of the full-scale war are examined, which require the development of innovative approaches and strategic solutions to preserve and enhance the country’s export potential. The aim of the article is to explore the structural changes in the foreign economic activity of Ukrainian enterprises under the influence of global trends and the challenges of full-scale war, in order to identify the main directions for adaptation and preservation of the country’s export potential. The article highlights changes in the structure of Ukrainian exports — with a noticeable emphasis on agricultural products and a significant increase in IT service exports. Challenges related to the blockade of traditional maritime routes due to military aggression are identified, along with ways to overcome them. These include the expansion of alternative transport routes, particularly through the Danube ports and western land crossings. The strategic importance of the unique legal and tax regime “Diia City” is underlined, as it supports and stimulates the development of the IT sector, which is one of the key drivers of Ukraine’s service exports. The impact of emerging digital technologies, including the metaverse, on creating new opportunities for entrepreneurship in FEA is also considered. It is noted that the success of Ukrainian entrepreneurship in foreign economic activity depends on its ability to adapt quickly, utilize modern digital technologies, and remain flexible in response to changing geopolitical and economic conditions. Future research directions include analyzing the impact of the metaverse and Web3 technologies on international trade.
