MUSEUM WORK AS A DIRECTION OF EXCURSION ACTIVITY

Abstract

Museums play an important role in preserving and promoting historical and cultural heritage, shaping national identity, and educating society. They are not only centers of knowledge but also spaces where every visitor can engage with the richness of cultural heritage, touch history, and feel a connection to the past. In the modern world, museums are becoming an important tool for cultural diplomacy and are also a significant component of the tourism industry. In recent decades, museums in Ukraine have undergone numerous changes, particularly due to socio-economic, political, and global challenges. Despite these difficulties, they remain key institutions that not only preserve heritage but also actively transform to engage new audiences through interactive programs, educational projects, and the digitization of exhibitions. The aim of this work is to analyze the museum sector in Ukraine as an important element of cultural and social life, to determine their role in preserving national heritage, the dynamics of development, and the challenges they face in modern conditions. The article identifies the factors influencing the development of the museum sector and analyzes key components in dynamics: attendance indicators, reasons for instability, the introduction of new forms, and the significance of museum excursion activities. Thus, for further development of the museum sector, a comprehensive approach to its support is necessary. The state should increase funding for museums, create new programs for their modernization, and support initiatives aimed at popularizing museum activities among youth and the general public. It is also important to engage the private sector, international funds, and grant programs that can assist in developing museum infrastructure and implementing innovative projects. Only by combining traditional approaches with modern technologies, international cooperation, and active promotion of cultural heritage can we ensure its preservation for future generations. Museums in Ukraine have enormous potential for development, and their role in the future world will depend on the joint efforts of society, the state, and the international community.
