RECOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT: INVESTMENT PROSPECTS OF POST-WAR UKRAINE

Abstract

Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine remains an attractive investment destination, offering a large market, a skilled workforce, rich resources, and significant growth potential. As investment is a driving force behind economic development in any country, Ukraine is no exception. Attracting foreign investment can stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and introduce new technologies. Ukraine presents a large consumer market, a qualified workforce, abundant natural resources, and a favorable geographical location. This article analyzes the state of Ukraine's investment climate and identifies key sectors for investment, including renewable energy, green energy, logistics and infrastructure, the defense industry, the agricultural sector, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, innovative technologies, and others. The authors prioritize investment areas that are most promising in the structure of the Ukrainian economy. Foreign investors seeking opportunities in Ukraine look for sectors that generate significant profits and produce goods that can successfully compete in the international market. Future investment priorities for Ukraine include maintaining friendly relations with investor countries and attracting more financial resources for post-war reconstruction. The authors argue that Ukraine has all the prerequisites to become an attractive investment location, as it possesses a skilled workforce, access to raw materials, and a favorable geographical position. They propose focusing on post-war reconstruction opportunities, including: increased infrastructure reconstruction needs; modernization and development of the ukrainian economy; attracting significant investments in priority sectors of the economy; strengthening the legal system and the rule of law to create a favorable investment environment and combat corruption; simplifying regulations and reducing bureaucratic procedures; creating a more transparent and predictable business environment.
