The war in Ukraine has already caused and continues to damage many areas, including serious negative consequences for the tourism sector. Such catastrophic consequences as mined territories, natural landscapes damaged by military actions and destroyed cities, destroyed monuments of historical and cultural heritage - create huge challenges for the future development of tourism in Ukraine. In order to quickly restore socio-economic processes after the war, Ukraine will need new approaches. The status of a candidate country for EU membership imposes additional obligations on Ukraine regarding the study of regulatory and legal acts and the implementation of the best European management practices, including in the field of tourism. The development of tourism can become a catalyst for the socio-economic and ecological development of communities and regions of Ukraine, overcoming the consequences of military aggression, stimulating the development of entrepreneurship, creating new jobs, filling local budgets. Since tourism is a tool for stimulating more than 50 related areas of the economy and there is already a potential demand for visiting Ukraine on the international market, communities of Ukraine promising for the development of tourism have every chance to direct efforts to create conditions for attracting foreign tourists to the country, thereby strengthening the export potential of Ukraine in as a whole. The purpose of the article is to justify the feasibility of implementing sustainable approaches within the framework of post-war tourism recovery strategies in the direction of environmental protection, support of local communities and promotion of long-term economic growth. The article proves that the post-war recovery of tourism in Ukraine based on the concept of sustainable development should include prioritizing environmental, social and economic sustainability to ensure long-term success. Cooperation with European countries and studying their post-war tourism recovery models can provide valuable information and opportunities for the sustainable recovery of Ukraine.
