LEADERSHIP STYLES AND THEIR IMPACT ON ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT
Abstract
The article discusses leadership as a fundamental aspect of any enterprise that affects its culture, productivity and overall success. Leadership style plays an important role among the socio-psychological factors of successful enterprise management. Two criteria of leader's behavior are characterized: the degree of consideration of the factor of leader's behavior dynamics and the degree of consideration of the factor of situational awareness. Leaders are responsible for encouraging others to work as best they can; for managing the daily activities of the organization; and for establishing the vision, mission and culture of the organization - all of which are directly influenced by their leadership style. Common leadership styles are considered, in particular, autocratic (or authoritarian), democratic (or participatory), laissez-faire (or delegative), transformational, transactional, conscious, situational. Leadership styles are distinguished according to their impact on business development: disciplined, visionary, thoughtful, relationship leadership, and adaptation of leadership styles. Each style has its own advantages and disadvantages in management, ways of achieving goals, and relationships with the team. No management style exists in its pure form. Most often, there is a mix of styles with a clear advantage of one. The choice of leadership style is consistent with the values and goals of the company and the needs of the team of employees. The choice of style is influenced by the following factors: type of enterprise, specificity of tasks, characteristics of the leader's team and its members, and the leader's personality. An overview of the life cycle of enterprise development is made, each stage of which is characterized by a certain dominant leadership style in management (democratic, authoritarian or liberal).
