«GREEN» STRATEGIES FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENTERPRISE AND INCREASE IN THE EFFICIENCY OF ITS ACTIVITIES
Abstract
The novel approach to environmental regulation globally is integral to the ongoing reevaluation of the relationship between society and its governing bodies. This approach aims to redirect business activities towards designing a new division of labor with a focus on ecological considerations to enhance the state of the environment. Currently, businesses are increasingly aware that their effective functioning and continued existence hinge on environmental performance, garnering public and government support. In a changing world marked by technological advancements, climate shifts, political transformations, and economic dynamics, the concept of interrelated practices that harmonize environmental and social objectives for the benefit of nature, citizens, and businesses is gaining prominence. At the forefront is the «green» economy, an economic model prioritizing the well-being of people with a commitment to social justice and a reduction in environmental risks and ecological deficits. Adherence to the «green» strategy within the process of ecological modernization of businesses serves as a central element in implementing an ecological strategy. This involves reshaping the regulatory function of the state to find a balance between economic and ecological development, with state regulation playing a pivotal role in this process. The article is aimed at generalizing and systematizing the basics of the "green" concept and proposals on possible ways of its implementation in the strategy of Ukrainian enterprises. In the course of the study, various methods were used: the logical method - for rational justification of the need to include the "green" concept in the strategy of Ukrainian enterprises; the method of systematic analysis, systematization and generalization - for allocation of the components of the "green" concept in the business strategy; systematic approach - for justification of the benefits and risks of implementing the "green" concept in the strategy of Ukrainian enterprises; abstract and logical method - for theoretical generalizations and formulation of conclusions obtained in the course of the study The result of the study is a generalization of the main components of the "green" concept in the strategy of enterprises for all sectors of the economy and their impact on sustainable development. It is proved that the introduction of the "green" concept into the strategy of enterprises is considered an alternative way of development that can meet the challenges of our time. Based on the studied benefits and risks of implementing the "green" concept, the need to develop the "green" concept in the strategy of Ukrainian enterprises for more efficient use of natural resources, increase of production efficiency, introduction of environmental management and development of human resources is substantiated.
