TRADE COOPERATION OF UKRAINE WITH THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY
Abstract
The current state of development of the world economy is characterized by the growth of production and trade activities, the expansion of economic ties between different countries, the deepening of processes of specialization and cooperation in production within the framework of the international division of labor. In such conditions, international economic relations became a key factor in the successful development of national economies. Foreign economic activity becomes the main factor of economic development. The activation of trade with the Republic of Turkey is at the top of the tasks of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Such studies require objective statistics and methodical support. The purpose of the work is to study the advantages of trade cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey and to determine the possibilities of using the results in the development of the foundations of Ukraine's trade policy. A comparative analysis of indicators reflecting the foreign trade policy and the attitude of countries to improving export support in Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey was carried out. The general level of competitiveness of the goods of Ukrainian enterprises in the TR trade markets is evidenced, first of all, by the indicators of the balance of commodity exports and imports in mutual trade: the trade balance, the coefficient of coverage of imports by exports and the «net trade» index. The balance of the trade balance determines the quantitative size of the balance of trade relations, while the coefficient of coverage of imports by exports and the «net trade» index characterize the qualitative state of their balance. Merchandise exports to the Republic of Turkey are important not only from the point of view of obtaining foreign exchange earnings, but also a significant positive balance. The markets of this region are extremely interesting for Ukraine, as Ukrainian-made goods are in demand and competitive in these markets.
