MODERN INFORMATION AND AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS FOR DESIGNING HOTEL GUEST ROOMS WITH SMART HOME TECHNOLOGIES
Abstract
The article shows that in the process of designing hotel rooms, many architects and engineers have to solve a number of complex problems: how to choose a typical automation architecture, which protocols and standards to use, how to ensure reliability, scalability and compatibility of systems, and also how to guarantee the confidentiality of guest data. In addition, guests expect intuitive interaction through mobile applications, voice control, presence sensors and, at the same time, security and the absence of failures. Hotel owners should strive to reduce energy consumption, increase the efficiency of service, cleaning, control of technical conditions and obtain a quick return on investment, which includes the need to harmonize comfort and security requirements with economic feasibility and technical implementation within the hotel network. A review of literature and analytic data shows that "Smart Hotel" is no longer a concept, but a direction of active implementation: climate control systems, NFC/Bluetooth locks, voice assistants, data analytics are all used to create a personalized experience. Research also indicates the increased competitiveness of “smart” hotels due to higher guest satisfaction and energy efficiency. At the same time, there is a growing attention to security and privacy issues in the context of IoT devices in the hotel sector. The internal hotel operations (cleaning planning, inventory support, dynamic pricing, etc.) can also be automated to improve the efficienvy of hotel operations. Special attention should be paid to the integration of property management systems (PMS) with cloud platforms of the Internet of Things (IoT), which allows transforming disparate technical solutions into a single digital hotel ecosystem. The modern approach to hotel design is based on the concept of “invisible service”: technologies work preventively, detecting technical malfunctions or guest needs, filling the minibar or replacing towels using sensors even before the request arises. This minimizes the human factor and optimizes personnel costs, which directly affects the ROI indicator, return on investment. At the same time, the implementation of end-to-end encryption protocols and next-generation cybersecurity standards is becoming a prerequisite, allowing to balance total digitalization with high requirements for guest privacy.
