CONCEPTUAL APPROACH TO THE HIERARCHIZATION OF ENTERPRISE POTENTIAL COMPONENTS
Abstract
The article examines the problem of conceptualizing and hierarchizing the components of enterprise potential in the context of improving the efficiency of enterprise development management. It is established that modern scientific literature lacks a unified approach to defining the structure of enterprise potential and the interrelationships among its individual components, which complicates their practical application in managerial activities. Based on the interpretation of an enterprise as a typical management system consisting of a “subject of management – object of management” pair, an approach is proposed according to which all known types of enterprise potential, including resource, personnel, labor, managerial, production, property, financial, investment, information, innovation, economic, and other potentials, are considered interconnected components of the enterprise’s general potential. It is substantiated that the fundamental basis for the formation and implementation of each of these components is the intellectual potential and the intellectual capital of enterprise employees developed on its foundation. It is proved that people, as elementary carriers of intelligence, ensure the transformation of resources into operational results and determine the level of enterprise potential utilization. A conceptual model of the sequential transformation of the intellectual potential of human resources into the enterprise’s general potential through the mechanisms of management, organization, and accumulation of intellectual capital is proposed. The study demonstrates that the absence of appropriate managerial decisions, proper allocation of responsibilities, or an adequate level of employee competencies leads to the loss of individual potential components and a decline in enterprise performance. It is concluded that the optimization of general potential utilization is possible through effective interaction among all its components, efficient use of employees’ intellectual potential, and the achievement of a synergistic effect, whereby the overall performance of the enterprise exceeds the simple sum of the results generated by its individual elements.
