MILITARY TOURISM IN THE SYSTEM OF ORGANIZING TOURIST TRIPS
Abstract
In this article, the theoretical and methodological foundations as well as the practical aspects of military tourism are examined in the context of the modern transformation of the tourism industry. The relevance of this study is due to the specific nature of the Ukrainian tourism market, which, in the context of full-scale war, is being reoriented from traditional leisure toward personalized, meaningful experiences, integrating volunteer, memorial, and commemorative components. It is noted that research on military tourism serves as the foundation for developing highly effective sectoral strategies. This enables the integration of wartime experience into the global tourism system, transforming it into an innovative tourism and recreational product. It has been established that modern military tourism is evolving from a niché extreme segment into a comprehensive form of activity that ensures synergy between scientific and strategic knowledge, commemorative practices, and direct technical and applied interaction. A functional framework for military tourism has been established. Particular attention has been paid to redirecting tourist interest toward the development of de-occupied territories and the creation of military tourism destinations, which requires the development of new security and ethical protocols. The classification of military tourism by purpose, objects, and organizational forms is presented. The role of innovative tools that enable the safe inspection of damaged or destroyed objects and the visualization of historical events in both real and virtual formats is analyzed. A separate section highlights the three-vector model for designing military tours, which is based on legal and regulatory frameworks, comprehensive security management, and moral and ethical standards in tourism. This approach helps to avoid the devaluation of historical memory and the romanticization of aggression. It has been stated that military tourism is evolving into a strategic tool for cultural diplomacy and national-patriotic education. The integration of this approach into strategic planning in the field of tourism allows for the harmonization of tasks related to the preservation of national memory with the goals of creating a positive international image of the country through the presentation of its military-historical experience.
