INSTITUTIONAL, INNOVATIVE, AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS OF FORMING UKRAINE’S COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES UNDER EUROPEAN INTEGRATION
Abstract
The article examines the theoretical and applied aspects of forming Ukraine’s competitive advantages under European integration. It substantiates that the competitiveness of the national economy is determined by the complex interaction of economic, institutional, innovative, social, infrastructural, and sectoral factors, which together shape the development trajectory of the country. It is established that Ukraine’s integration into the European economic space is accompanied not only by new opportunities related to access to markets, investments, technologies, and financial support instruments, but also by increased requirements for product quality, production efficiency, institutional maturity, and economic adaptability in a competitive environment. Particular attention is paid to the role of human capital, innovation potential, institutional environment, and the sectoral structure of the economy in the formation of Ukraine’s long-term competitive advantages. It is proved that the development of human capital creates the basis for innovative transformation, while the quality of institutions determines the efficiency of economic potential realization and the level of investment attractiveness of the country, ensuring economic growth. The sectoral competitive advantages of Ukraine are summarized, particularly in agriculture, information technologies, energy, and selected industrial segments. A scientific and methodological approach to the formation of Ukraine’s competitive advantages is proposed. Unlike fragmented approaches, it is based on the systemic consideration of the interdependence of economic, institutional, innovative, and social factors, as well as the resilience and adaptability of the economy to current crisis challenges and external shocks. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of their use in the development of state economic policy, competitiveness enhancement strategies, and in the educational process while teaching the discipline “Fundamentals of International Economics and Management”.
