APPROACHES TO DEFINING THE ESSENCE AND STRUCTURE OF THE MECHANISM OF TRANSFORMING THE COMPETITIVE POTENTIAL OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY SUBJECTS
Abstract
The article examines theoretical approaches to the essence and structure of the mechanism for transforming the competitive potential of tourism industry entities under martial law and post-war recovery. The relevance of the study is substantiated by the need to develop an integrated transformation mechanism capable of addressing the security, economic, institutional, organizational, and digital challenges of the contemporary environment. The purpose of the article is to substantiate theoretical approaches to the essence and structure of the mechanism for transforming the competitive potential of tourism industry entities under wartime and post-war challenges, taking into account the need to ensure their secure, sustainable, and competitive development. To achieve this purpose, the study sets the following objectives: to generalize scientific approaches to the interpretation of the transformation mechanism and its structural elements, and to identify the key criteria for transforming the competitive potential of tourism industry entities. Scientific approaches to the interpretation of the transformation mechanism are generalized, and its key structural elements are identified. It is established that the transformation mechanism should be considered as a set of conceptual approaches, strategies, methods, tools, and supporting subsystems, the implementation of which should be carried out in accordance with the criteria of sustainability, security, and competitiveness. The expediency of constructing the transformation mechanism on the basis of three interrelated blocks is proved: the formation of the transformation concept, the determination of transformation phases according to relevant criteria, and the implementation of the mechanism through a system of managerial influence. The practical value of the study lies in the possibility of using the obtained results to substantiate further decisions regarding the development of tourism industry entities. The proposed provisions may be used as a theoretical and methodological basis for developing strategies for the post-war recovery and modernization of Ukraine’s tourism industry.
