FEATURES OF ORGANIZATION OF BANKING MANAGEMENT IN UKRAINE: EXPERIENCE OF EU COUNTRIES AND DOMESTIC PRACTICE

Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of banking management in EU countries and Ukraine based on a comparison of the criteria for its organisation at AG Deutsche Bank and JSC CB PrivatBank. Scientific approaches to understanding the essence of the concept of ‘bank management’ are analysed, which made it possible to establish similarities in the opinions of scientists on certain key characteristics, in particular: bank management is considered as a specific type of management activity that covers the internal processes of a bank and is aimed at achieving its strategic goals; bank management as a comprehensive system of organisation, planning, regulation, analysis and control relating to both financial flows and the bank's resource potential. The author's interpretation of ‘bank management’ as a purposeful activity of coordination, management and control of the work of the bank's structural units, aimed at ensuring its development, increasing competitiveness and growth of financial results in a dynamic economic environment. An analysis of the main indicators of the domestic banking system during the period of martial law (2022-2024) was conducted, which made it possible to assess the effectiveness of banking management during this period and conclude that the domestic banking system is profitable and financially stable in the face of current challenges. It was noted that PrivatBank JSC is the best bank in Ukraine in terms of financial results and technological orientation. The choice of AG Deutsche Bank as the best bank for analysing the effectiveness of banking management among European banks and countries is justified. An assessment of its business model has been carried out. Criteria for a comparative analysis of the organisation of banking management at AG Deutsche Bank and JSC CB PrivatBank have been identified. A list of important areas of management at AG Deutsche Bank, recommended for banks in Ukraine, has been determined. A strategic model for the development of banking management in Ukrainian banks in the context of adapting the experience of AG Deutsche Bank is proposed, and it is justified that the implementation of this model will contribute to the development of the domestic banking system.
