CHALLENGES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF LABOR POTENTIAL IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITALIZATION
Abstract
The article examines the impact of digital transformation on the labor potential of the workforce. The expediency of studying this impact through a system of challenges and threats caused by the active introduction of digital technologies into socio-economic processes is substantiated. Within the framework of the study, challenges are interpreted as processes and phenomena that necessitate a certain reaction, while threats are destructive in nature and lead to negative consequences. The challenges caused by the introduction of digital technologies in the technical-organizational, socio-economic, demographic and ethical spheres are investigated. Challenges in the technical and organizational sphere, caused by the introduction of digital technologies, are associated with technocentric changes, autonomy of digital technologies, risks of monopolization. Challenges in the socio-economic sphere are associated with unequal access to vital services as a result of limited opportunities to use digital services, mismatch between demand and supply of labor by professional groups and level of qualification. Demographic challenges arise due to differences in worldviews and expectations from work, characteristic of representatives of different generations. Ethical challenges are associated with the replacement of real components of culture and society with simulations, loss of the meaning of cognition, and decreased employee involvement. The introduction of digital technologies creates certain threats in the security and environmental spheres. Security threats are related to the risks of cyber threats and the vulnerability of digital infrastructure, as well as the violation of confidentiality and privacy of personal data. Environmental threats are associated with increasing pressure on digital and energy infrastructure. Effective management of labor resources and processes of labor potential reproduction requires taking into account the identified challenges and threats, as they determine strategies for adapting the workforce to socio-economic changes.
