MACROECONOMIC INSTABILITY AS A RISK FACTOR FOR HEALTHCARE BUSINESS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical issues of the impact of macroeconomic instability on the functioning, performance, and strategic development of recreational and health enterprises. The article analyzes and systematizes the main factors contributing to economic imbalances, including rising inflationary pressure, declining investment activity, persistent devaluation processes, and a notable reduction in tourist flows, all of which collectively increase financial vulnerability, intensify market uncertainty, and pose significant long-term strategic risks for enterprises operating in the health and wellness sector. The study examines the mechanisms through which these factors influence financial stability, shape the structure and dynamics of consumer demand, increase operational and energy-related costs, and limit the capacity of enterprises to expand their service portfolios, invest in technological modernization, and implement innovative management and operational solutions. Special attention is given to the necessity of adaptive, flexible, and resilient management approaches that enable organizations to respond effectively to external economic shocks, maintain operational continuity, ensure high service quality, safeguard customer satisfaction, and preserve competitiveness. The article proposes practical strategies for adaptation, including comprehensive diversification of services, intensive digitalization of business processes, implementation of advanced energy-efficient technologies, strategic reorientation toward the domestic market, and the strengthening of risk management systems as essential tools to ensure long-term stability and sustainable competitiveness. The findings of the study provide a valuable methodological and practical basis for managers, industry professionals, and policymakers to formulate evidence-based strategies and make informed decisions aimed at enhancing the stability, resilience, competitiveness, and sustainable growth of recreational and health enterprises under conditions of continuous macroeconomic instability.
