Abstract

The article analyses the legal dimension of European integration. The key aspects of Ukraine’s legal harmonisation with European standards and norms aimed at ensuring compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU norms and requirements are investigated. Particular attention is paid to the economic aspect of European integration, in particular, the development of trade, investment and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. The author analyses the impact of European integration on Ukraine’s economic development and highlights the benefits and challenges that arise in the context of this process. The study is based on the analysis of official documents, statistical data, scientific publications and expert opinions, which allows to provide a reasonable and comprehensive assessment of the dynamics of Ukraine’s European integration in the context of economic cooperation with the EU. The author emphasises that Ukraine’s European integration is a strategic course of development of our country, which provides for its gradual accession to the EU. This process has not only political but also significant economic consequences. The article also draws attention to the role of legal reforms in the process of Ukraine’s European integration and assesses their impact on improving the business climate, attracting investment and developing entrepreneurship. Special attention is paid to legislative changes aimed at harmonising Ukrainian legislation with EU standards. Institutional changes and reforms that contribute to the strengthening of the rule of law and the effectiveness of the rule of law in Ukraine are also studied. The author also examines the challenges and obstacles to European integration, including corruption, lack of efficiency of the judiciary, lack of reforms in key sectors of the economy and other factors that complicate the process of European integration. An attempt has been made to offer constructive recommendations on how to overcome these obstacles and ensure further progress in Ukraine’s European integration. The results of this study may be useful for government agencies, academic institutions, businesses and the public in Ukraine and in EU member states interested in effective cooperation with Ukraine.
