THE ESSENCE AND PRINCIPLES OF INNOVATION MANAGEMENT IN THE TRANSPORT SECTOR
Abstract
The article considers the topical issue of innovation management in road transport in the context of ensuring sustainable development of the industry. The necessity of using modern tools for assessing the effectiveness of investments in innovative solutions, in particular digital logistics platforms, automation systems and electric vehicles, especially in crisis conditions, is substantiated. The impact of the transport industry on the socio-economic development of regions and the state is analyzed. The unresolved problem of specifying the basic principles of innovation management at the level of transport enterprises, taking into account the specifics of their activities and the dynamism of the external environment, is highlighted. Innovations are considered as a social, technical and economic process that leads to qualitatively new products, technologies and services. The main sources of financing innovation activities at enterprises are outlined. The problems that hinder the development of transport and logistics clusters in Ukraine, including imperfections in the state cluster policy, low innovation potential of enterprises and specific problems of forming innovative transport and logistics systems, are analyzed. The study allowed to define the essence of innovations in road transport as the introduction of progressive ideas that lead to the emergence of qualitatively new products, technologies and services, contributing to the efficiency and competitiveness of the industry. An analysis of the problems of innovation development and the formation of transport and logistics clusters in Ukraine has revealed a number of constraints, including imperfect state cluster policy, low level of innovation potential of domestic enterprises, focus of transport companies on extensive development factors, financial constraints for small and medium-sized enterprises, insufficient quality of transport and engineering infrastructure, and lack of close cooperation between science and business. Despite the existing obstacles, there is a positive trend in the formation of small and medium-sized innovative companies in the transport sector, which can become the basis for the development of efficient transport and logistics systems.
