RESILIENCE OF REGIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION OF TOURISM RESOURCES: ECOLOGY, ECONOMY, AND SOCIETY

Keywords: regional tourism, tourism resilience, sustainable development, socio-ecological-economic sustainability of the community, environmental risks, socio-ecological-economic resources of the territory

Abstract

The research found that the concept of resilience is an important tool in understanding and ensuring the sustainability of systems at various levels, including economic, social and environmental. The resilience of territories and communities in the context of tourism is of particular importance, as it provides a balance between the development of the tourism industry and the preservation of environmental stability, social justice and economic benefits. It has been proven that in the context of constant changes associated with the transformation of property relations, global challenges and risks, the importance of resilience becomes critical. Tourism, as one of the most important sectors of the economy, can contribute to the development of regions, but for this it is necessary to ensure a sustainable approach to the use of resources, which includes environmental safety, effective management and human resource development. Given these factors, the development of territorial resilience is recognized as the basis for sustainable consumption of tourism resources. At the same time, it was found that insufficient attention to the connection between environmental security and socio-economic development leads to risks of inefficient use of resources and threats to the sustainability of local communities. The relevance of this topic is increasing in the context of global changes, such as climate change, war, epidemics, which threaten the stability of economic and social systems, especially in the context of recovery from crisis situations. To achieve sustainable development goals, it is necessary to take into account the interrelationship of the environmental, economic and social spheres, developing effective strategies for the development of tourism activities within the regions. In the future, it remains important to take into account risks, identify internal sources of resilience and find ways to adapt, which is the basis for the development of resilient territories. With the help of comprehensive tools based on the assessment of local resources, social norms and economic capital, it is possible to create conditions for sustainable development of communities. This allows not only to prevent negative consequences, but also to create opportunities for positive economic, social and environmental impact on regions with tourism potential. Given the current challenges, such approaches are necessary for achieving success in the field of sustainable tourism and efficient use of resources.
