THE NEED TO IMPLEMENT DIGITALIZATION STRATEGIES OF THE HOTEL BUSINESS IN UKRAINE FOLLOWING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE WAR

Abstract

The article is devoted to revealing the need to implement digitalization strategies for Ukrainian hotel business entities in the aftermath of the war. The main goals and objectives of hotel digitalization strategies are substantiated by time frames, in particular for short-term (1–2 years), medium-term (3–5 years), long-term (5–10 years) periods. Summarizing the experience of hotel management, the results of a survey of managers of individual hotels, scientific and analytical studies, the main directions (options) of digitalization strategies for different categories of hotels are proposed, in particular for hotels by level of comfort: 1–2, 3, 4, 5 stars. And also in more detail for each category of hotels, the basic components, main tasks, and indicators of the effectiveness of digitalization strategies are disclosed. Taking into account the war in Ukraine, the possibilities of digitalization strategies for hotels in regions of Ukraine that have been significantly affected by the war are separately considered, and options for a digitalization strategy are proposed for them. The emphasis is on the fact that for any hotels in Ukraine, digitalization strategies during the war may be associated with numerous risks, therefore, these main risks, possible consequences and ways to overcome them are summarized. Summarizing the research, certain patterns of manifestations of digitalization strategies for hotel business entities and society as a whole have been identified: innovativeness, scalability, far-reaching consequences, cross-functional nature and consumer orientation. The conclusions are drawn that digitalization strategies will help hotels of different categories in Ukraine during the war and in the post-war period to effectively implement digitalization and increase guest satisfaction. The implementation of digitalization strategies for Ukrainian hotel business entities in the aftermath of the war includes the integration of the latest technologies to increase efficiency and improve customer experience. It is also emphasized that digital marketing and an active presence in social networks can increase brand recognition and attract new consumers, and that it is also important to ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements. The implementation of such strategies helps the hotel business increase competitiveness and increase revenues.
