NON-FINANCIAL REPORTING AS A TOOL FOR ASSESSING MANAGEMENT EFFICIENCY TO ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Abstract
The article discusses the issues of sustainable development of enterprises and the role of non-financial reporting as an important tool for assessing the effectiveness of management to achieve sustainable development goals. Special emphasis is placed on the current conditions of globalization, climate change and business requirements, which necessitate a rethinking of traditional management approaches. The study shows how sustainable development, which includes economic, social and environmental principles, is becoming an integral part of the strategy of companies that must integrate these factors into their activities to achieve sustainable development goals. Particular attention is paid to the importance of non-financial reporting for assessing the effectiveness of management processes and its importance for modern business. It is an important tool that allows companies to demonstrate their social responsibility, environmental sustainability and social risk management, which increases the trust of both investors and consumers. The availability of non-financial reporting ensures transparency in companies' operations, creating a favorable environment for developing partnerships and attracting investment. This is especially important for Ukrainian companies that have limited experience in this area and face difficulties in disclosing non-financial indicators. Particular attention is paid to the importance of non-financial reporting for strengthening the company's image and expanding its competitiveness in the global market. Non-financial reporting contributes to enhancing the social responsibility of business, demonstrating its transparency and ability to meet the challenges of the modern market. This makes it possible to attract investments, enter new markets and improve relations with business partners and government agencies. The article also draws attention to the problems that arise in the process of preparing non-financial reports in Ukraine, including limited availability of reports, low detail of disclosures, and the need for Ukrainian companies to integrate into international non-financial reporting standards.
