COWORKINGS AS THE NEWEST DIRECTION OF BUSINESS TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article examines the phenomenon of coworking and its connection with the tourism industry. The relevance of the study is due to the popularity of coworking as a business, which can become a promising direction for the implementation of permanent tourism practices. In the modern conditions of globalization and flexible working hours, coworking spaces are becoming increasingly popular among business tourists. They provide ease and efficiency of work processes for specialists working remotely and becoming important elements of tourism infrastructure that contribute to sustainable development. Due to their versatility, coworking spaces allow to combine work with travel, creating conditions for eco-conscious business trips that minimize environmental impact and at the same time support the local economy. The aim of the article is to study the concept of coworking, the connection between the goals of coworking businesses and tourism, as well as the experience of using sustainable development practices in coworkings. Such research methods as generalization, comparison, classification, as well as the statistical method and the method of literature analysis were used. The study identified the main approaches to understanding the concept of coworking. A classification scheme for coworkings was developed. The number and geography of coworkings in the world and in Ukraine are characterized. The trends of business tourism of recent years are studied, in particular equality, inclusiveness, integration of technologies and authenticity of experience. It is found that coworking businesses and tourism have common goals, in particular, sustainable development and environmental friendliness. An example of the implementation of such practices is the IWG company, all of whose spaces are carbon-neutral. These results of the study can be used by both tourism and coworking businesses to improve and enhance the efficiency of their work and develop partnerships. The recommendations presented in the article can become a good basis for the successful development of coworking spaces as important business tourism spaces in Ukraine.
