PROSPECTS FOR THE RECOVERY OF THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR FOR VETERAN REINTEGRATION IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article addresses the pressing issue of reintegrating veterans into Ukrainian civil society under conditions of socio-economic instability caused by war. The aim of the article is to explore the prospects for the development of the hospitality sector as a tool for veterans’ reintegration into Ukrainian civil society by analyzing its current state, identifying key challenges faced by veterans, examining international practices, and formulating recommendations for implementing comprehensive programs aimed at their professional integration, rehabilitation, and social adaptation. The study focuses on challenges related to veterans’ employment, social adaptation, and rehabilitation, particularly in the context of utilizing the potential of the hospitality sector. It analyzes the current state of Ukraine’s hospitality industry, which has suffered significant losses due to military actions but simultaneously demonstrates recovery prospects through innovations, digitalization, and investment attraction. The article highlights that the hospitality sector has unique potential for addressing the challenges of professional integration, psychological and physical rehabilitation of veterans, and fostering an inclusive environment. Examples of successful international practices are provided, such as rehabilitation and employment programs for veterans in the United States and the United Kingdom. Similar initiatives are being implemented in Ukraine; however, their effectiveness is limited by the lack of a systematic approach necessary for the comprehensive use of the hospitality industry as a tool for socio-economic reintegration. The article identifies promising directions for the development of the hospitality sector, including infrastructure restoration, the creation of specialized rehabilitation programs, the integration of modern technologies, the development of domestic tourism, and ensuring veterans’ access to educational and professional opportunities. Special attention is paid to developing public-private partnership strategies to support veterans. The article emphasizes the importance of further research and the implementation of innovative approaches aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the industry, integrating veterans, and ensuring social stability. The hospitality sector is presented as a key factor in economic recovery and social adaptation, contributing to the long-term development of society and strengthening Ukraine’s economic potential.
