THE USE OF AI IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT AS AN ORGANIC ELEMENT OF MODERN DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
The research focuses on the latest trends in project management and on the implementation of AI into project management. The goal was to examine the business processes of several international and local Ukrainian companies in various fields and analyze the involvement of AI in simplifying tasks and facilitating project management tasks. The article considers commercial, state and military fields in general, and different types of businesses within – from mechanical engineering, automotive and banking systems to media and health sector. During the research, the main stages of projects that involve AI technologies have been determined. The results are mostly applied to the following stages of the project management process: initiation, implementation and control. The analysis has shown how much the involvement of AI technologies in project management has increased, being compared to the past 5–7 years, and how the positive experience of implementing AI in project management can be used in the future. It is revealed that AI in some way has revolutionized project management by streamlining processes and automating tasks, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity. Within the research it has been determined which business fields AI is more actively involved in and has been discovered that the involvement of AI at any stage of the project management shortens the time for completing tasks, making it possible for managers to focus on much more complicated tasks and for businesses to save the budget by using AI not only within short-term management, but within the long-term one too. In a view of further technological development, AI will be involved in the planning basics or performing half of the microtasks at least. It will allow managers to redirect their resources – financial and human ones – to business growth. The integration of AI with development strategies will pave the way for improved decision-making, leading to sustainable business expansion. The research shows how AI is becoming a fundamental tool in empowering modern businesses to adapt to changing landscapes and to stay competitive in the fast-paced digital era.
