INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS OF THE UKRAINIAN ECONOMY: CURRENT STATE AND RATING ASSESSMENT
Abstract
The relevance of the research topic lies in the need to address the problem of outflow of investment capital from the Ukrainian economy since the beginning of the war, which negatively affects the results of economic activity of enterprises, employment of the population, stability of the national currency and requires the creation of favorable conditions for attracting investment funds to Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state and problems of investment attractiveness of Ukraine's economy, Ukraine's place in international investment attractiveness rankings, and to substantiate the factors which reduce and increase its investment attractiveness at the current stage of development. The main reasons that led to the decline in Ukraine's investment attractiveness in 2018-2023 are identified. The article has analyzed the current state of the investment process in Ukraine and the problems of attracting foreign direct investment in the post-war economy. Ukraine's place in the international investment attractiveness rankings has been highlighted, the main challenges and risks for domestic and foreign investors that have led to the deterioration of the investment climate are substantiated. The main factors that have a negative impact and reduce the investment attractiveness of the national economy of Ukraine, as well as factors that have a positive impact on the investment climate and investment attraction are identified. The authors have outlined the prospects for increasing the investment attractiveness of Ukraine in connection with Ukraine's obtaining the status of a candidate for accession to the EU, expanding economic ties with the countries of Europe and the United States, and receiving economic and financial assistance from partner countries to restore Ukraine's economy. The authors have substantiated the positive changes that have taken place in the Ukrainian economy as a result of digitalization of the public sector, public services and business, which can become a comparative advantage of Ukraine and facilitate investment decisions by foreign investors.
