IMPACT OF STRATEGIC CHANGES ON THE EFFICIENCY OF ENERGY COMPANIES OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the current state of the energy market of Ukraine. It was determined that the Ukrainian energy system until 2017 was divided into two separate blocks, which were aimed at the East and the West. The state and development trends of the energy system of Ukraine in the pre-war period are determined. It has been established that the war became a catalyst for the complete Continental European energy system with the energy systems of Ukraine. Legislative changes were established and analysis of analytical reports on the further recovery of the energy industry in Ukraine was carried out. Identification of key energy companies in this market (JSC "Energy Company of Ukraine" (ECU), NAEC "Energoatom", NEC "Ukrenergo", PJSC "Ukrhydroenergo", DTEK and LLC "Energoinvest Holding"), which form the strategy for the development of the energy system of Ukraine. The main directions of development of energy companies and their spheres of influence are characterized. Despite the constant destruction of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, energy companies are conducting repair campaigns, restoring energy facilities in an unprecedentedly short time and actively preparing for the new heating season. The strategic directions and goals of the National Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050 are summarized, which envisages several scenarios of security and economic development that depend on the timing of the end of the war, the rate of GDP growth, the demographic situation, and the integration of Ukraine into the European Union. The purpose of carrying out strategic changes at the energy companies of Ukraine is defined as the transformation of the energy system of Ukraine into the energy hub of Europe, which will help the continent finally get rid of dependence on Russian fossil fuels thanks to the clean energy produced in Ukraine. Management of strategic changes at energy companies of Ukraine, during the war, is a difficult task and requires constant adaptation to new conditions of development and challenges. The impact of strategic changes was assessed and the key factors of their implementation were determined. Recommendations for increasing the efficiency of strategic change management at energy companies of Ukraine have been developed.
