INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES: THEIR ROLE IN CHANGING THE BUSINESS PARADIGM OF COMPANIES
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the role of information technologies in changing the business paradigm of companies, taking into account factors of the external environment and trends in the development of the economy. The essence of breakthrough technologies is considered, taking into account the possibility of their spread in the context of increasing threats from totalitarian regimes and the fear of the civilized world that they will be used to spread violence or even destroy humanity. Attention is focused on the relationship between information technologies and the innovative development of the economy. The relationship of information technologies with the development of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 is considered. It was concluded that information technologies are: both the basis and the result of innovative activity; a stimulating factor for the innovative development of companies and a leader of innovations; cost centers and centers for changing business processes of companies, and therefore their business models. The essence of the category "innovation" was studied, taking into account the existing significant contradiction regarding the presence of significant innovation potential and, therefore, the possibility of the development of information technologies and the imperfect organizational and economic mechanism, which does not contribute to its use in sufficient volumes at the appropriate level and, accordingly, to the development of the leading sectors of the economy. A study was conducted regarding the development of the IT sphere in the context of its profitability. Technological structures by chronology and the share of Ukraine in the export of high-tech products and the growth of domestic GDP due to the introduction of new technologies in Ukraine are considered. Attention is focused on the fact that the modern development of the information technology market is mostly oriented towards the provision of IT services. The needs of the information technology market are determined by the capabilities of information technologies of different periods of development. Today, new consumers have appeared, as a rule, they are business representatives, the introduction and use of the latest information technologies optimizes the use of resources, accelerates the exchange of information. It was concluded that information technologies in modern conditions play a significant role and have a significant impact on increasing the economic development of the state. However, given the lack of a single model for the development of information technologies, it is important to take into account when choosing a strategy adequate to modern conditions best world practices and the presence of innovative potential of economic entities and, accordingly, the possibilities of their practical use at the level of Ukraine.
