FEASIBILITY AND PROSPECTS OF USING TRANSNATIONAL COMPARATIVE INDEX SYSTEMS FOR ANALYZING UKRAINE'S BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT DURING THE WARTIME PERIOD
Abstract
This article explores Ukraine's business environment using global transnational comparative index systems, focusing particularly on the significant impact of war. It conducts an exhaustive analysis and methodical organization of essential comparative indicators, critically assessing the practicality of employing these indexes to evaluate Ukraine's commercial sphere amidst the wartime restrictions impacting open state data availability. The research delineates specific index systems and indicators that could be harnessed for a deeper comparative analysis, emphasizing the critical nature of such analysis in augmenting Ukraine's appeal to investors. In an era marked by intensified globalization and the integration of global economic arenas, the pivotal role of transnational index systems in crafting the international image of countries has become increasingly prominent. These indexes not only pivotal in guiding the investment decisions of global corporations and investors but also compel nations to undertake substantive reforms to ascend in global rankings. The current geopolitical turmoil and military actions on Ukrainian soil have considerably influenced the nation's economic framework and its business environment, spotlighting the challenges in ensuring the accuracy and relevance of data for inclusion in these indices. The article elaborates on the methodology for appraising index systems and critical business environment indicators like levels of corruption, effectiveness of governance, and stability of legal systems. The findings reveal notable changes in Ukraine's business landscape due to the ongoing conflict, significantly affecting economic activity, attractiveness to investors, and international economic relationships. Conclusions drawn from the study underscore the imperative for more nuanced research and the customization of international comparative index systems to the exigencies of wartime, alongside formulating robust strategies to reinforce Ukraine's standing in global rankings. This strategic enhancement is deemed essential for securing foreign investment and promoting sustainable economic development in the tumultuous period of war and its aftermath, thereby ensuring a resilient economic recovery and stabilization for Ukraine in the post-conflict era.
