ASSESSMENT OF THE CURRENT STATE AND DETERMINATION OF PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE TOURISM SECTOR IN UKRAINE TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CONSEQUENCES OF MARTIAL LAW
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the current state and determine the prospects for the development of entrepreneurship in the tourism sector during the period of martial law and post-war recovery in Ukraine, resulting from Russia's full-scale invasion of the territory of the Ukrainian state. Additionally, the study aimed to identify the challenges and changes faced by tourism enterprises and develop strategic proposals for adaptation to unpredictable conditions and progressive development. The results obtained are as follows: The article explores the effects of military actions by Russia on the development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine's tourism sector and proposes potential areas for growth in difficult socio-economic circumstances. It is recognized that fostering entrepreneurship in the tourism sector amidst the conflict in Ukraine presents certain challenges. It is a well-known fact that conflicts and wars often lead to uncertain conditions and an unfavorable environment for travel. This text presents an economic analysis of entrepreneurial activity indicators in the tourism sector during the period under study. The analysis suggests that there has been a significant decline in economic activity among small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the driving force of the tourism sector. The identified progressive directions could be considered for strategic proposals for tourism development during and after times of war. These directions aim to develop entrepreneurial initiatives using both own and donor resources. The directions include: security and stability, military tourism, support for tourism in peaceful zones, humanitarian tourism projects, marketing and communications, special events, and incentives for tourists. In order to explore potential opportunities for entrepreneurship in Ukraine, we have identified several key aspects of the tourism sector that are currently being influenced by global progressive trends. These include job creation, investment attraction, stimulation of the local economy, innovation and development, drawing attention to local culture and heritage, promoting sustainable development, expanding tourism offers, and developing small and medium-sized businesses.
