PROBLEMS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINE'S FOREIGN TRADE IN THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBAL AND DOMESTIC SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATIONS

Abstract

The study of the article is related to the determination of trends and features of the development of Ukraine's foreign trade in the conditions of domestic and global socio-economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the intensified military actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. After analyzing the information of national statistics, it was determined that there will be a significant decrease in foreign trade indicators in 2020-2022. Dynamic changes in export and import also led to a significant decrease in the country's foreign trade turnover and an increase in the negative balance of foreign trade. Analysis of the structure of export and import of goods and services revealed a significant decrease in the sale of raw materials - agricultural products and metals, as well as a significant number of services, including a significant reduction in services for the processing of goods for the purpose of sale in the domestic economy, air and rail transport services, services, travel-related, construction services, insurance services, government and government services. Domestic and global socio-economic challenges stimulated the emergence of problems and obstacles for the development of foreign trade both in Ukraine and in the world. The war in Ukraine made the economic activity of many Ukrainian enterprises, including foreign market participants, impossible for a certain time, and changed the global structure of production and consumption of goods and services. Domestic enterprises are largely limited in the implementation of their economic activities due to the loss of property and locations in the zone of active hostilities, due to uncertainty and unwillingness of households to spend funds, due to a significant decrease in the population, which significantly reduced demand in the domestic market. Therefore, the volumes of export and import of goods and services between the domestic and foreign markets decreased significantly. an important direction for the restoration of domestic foreign trade should be the continuation of active cooperation with European countries and the implementation of intentions to join the European Union, as well as the growth of the representation of Ukraine's interests in African countries. The main directions of cooperation should be the promotion of world food security by promoting the development of Ukrainian agricultural production, regardless of the significant damage to agricultural lands and the conduct of military operations in regions with strong agricultural export potential.
