WORLD FOOD CRISIS AS A RESULT OF THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the situation on the world market of agricultural products in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, defining the importance of Ukraine in maintenance of food security in the world and development of offers on prevention of a food crisis in other countries and inside the state. The relevance of the study is due to the deepening of the food crisis in connection with the invasion of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, one of the largest exporters of agricultural products. The aim of the article is to develop proposals for the prevention of food crisis in Ukraine and the world. In order to achieve the stated objectives, the essence of the concept of «food security» and its main components were established, and the main causes of food insecurity and deficit in the poorest countries of the world were identified. On the basis of statistical data was defined the importance of Ukraine in ensuring food security in the world, analyzed the current situation of production and export of agricultural products in Ukraine and its impact on global food security in war conditions. On the basis of the analysis, proposals to ensure food security and prevent a food crisis in Ukraine and the world were developed. In the course of the study the methods of analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction were used. The article for the first time proposed practical measures aimed at ensuring food security and preventing food crisis in the country and other states. In the course of the research, it was determined that Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products, and therefore an invasion of Russia into its territory could have catastrophic consequences for the food security of the world. In order to prevent them, it is proposed to adapt the logistics system to the current conditions for the resumption of exports, to support Ukrainian agricultural producers and to continue cooperation with countries that provide financial and humanitarian assistance. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the findings to ensure food security and prevent a food crisis in Ukraine and the world.
