EDUCATIONAL ANALYTICS THROUGH THE PRISM OF WAR: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article outlines the main challenges faced by higher education in Ukraine during Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine. They are related to the destruction of the infrastructure of higher education institutions, the loss of personnel potential, the reduction of funding for higher education, the outflow of Ukrainian and foreign students from higher education institutions, ensuring academic integrity in higher education institutions under martial law. Their informational and analytical assessment was carried out. It is emphasized the need to respond to them as soon as possible with appropriate measures in order to preserve higher education in Ukraine and increase its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country and its regions. Current problems that have worsened and arisen in the system of higher education of Ukraine, in the conditions of a rapid increase in established challenges, are considered. The opportunities that Ukrainian higher education can obtain for its development even under such difficult conditions are given. Such opportunities are: development of international academic mobility for teachers and students; intensive implementation of information technologies in the educational process and increasing the professionalism of teachers; application of flexible learning technology; cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign higher education institutions; implementation of the "lifelong education" model; introduction of distance education as a full-fledged form of education for obtaining higher education; for students – the opportunity to study and work at the same time (obtaining practical experience), and for teachers – to work in educational and other fields (to transfer practical experience to students); improvement of the territorial organization of higher education in Ukraine (relocation of higher education institutions from territories where active hostilities are taking place to large cities); an opportunity to see hidden problems in higher education and work to eradicate their causes.
