ANALYSIS OF THEORETICAL APPROACHES TO THE DEFINITION OF THE CONCEPT OF «ENTERPRISE CAPITAL»

Abstract

Enterprise capital is one of the fundamental concepts of economics. Researchers have been studying the nature and economic content of enterprise capital for many years. It is the main economic base for the creation and operation of economic entities in the economy. Capital plays an important role in ensuring the progressive economic development of society as a whole. Achieving the strategic goals of the enterprise depends on the effectiveness of capital management of the enterprise and its structure. All this indicates the relevance of the issue under investigation. The purpose of the article is to study the theoretical foundations of the definition of "enterprise capital", systematization of scientific approaches to determining the essence of the economic category of enterprise capital. The article considers theoretical approaches to defining the concept of "enterprise capital". Scientific approaches to determining the essence of the economic category of enterprise capital were systematized and its classification was clarified. A study of the evolution of approaches to the essence of capital. Capital has been studied and considered from different positions and in different manifestations for several centuries by representatives of different economic schools. An analysis of the definitions of capital provided by Ukrainian scholars in various literary sources. Two main directions were identified to determine the essence of capital: from the standpoint of financial management, the process of managing the formation, distribution and use of financial resources of the entity; and when capital is considered as an economic resource intended to be involved in the production process in order to generate income, +in terms of its economic essence. The process of creation, accumulation and use of capital is impossible without the participation of money, so capital is a specific form of financial resources involved in ensuring the financial and economic activities of the enterprise. Capital is also all kinds of property and intellectual values invested by an investor in the objects of entrepreneurial activity for the purpose of making a profit.
