FEATURES OF FORMING CORPORATE CULTURE IN AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The study analyzes features, barriers, and mechanisms of corporate culture formation in Ukrainian agricultural enterprises under conditions of market transformation, European integration, sustainable development and martial law. The subject of the study is corporate culture as a strategic tool for enhancing resilience, adaptability, and competitiveness in agribusiness. The aim is to substantiate practical approaches to transforming organizational culture, considering industry-specific factors and contemporary challenges. The methodology involves a systematic review of scientific literature, comparative analysis, typology based on the Cameron–Quinn Competing Values Framework, and generalization of empirical data. Findings indicate that agricultural enterprises are characterized by a hierarchical culture model shaped by production seasonality, natural factors, regional traditions, and authoritarian management style, which constrains innovativeness, initiative, and staff motivation. Key barriers to transformation include resistance to change, lack of managerial competencies, financial and resource limitations, and high workforce turnover. A strategy for transitioning to a hybrid model is proposed, integrating clan elements (cohesion), adhocratic (innovation), market (adaptability), and hierarchical (stability) components. A set of culture formation mechanisms is outlined, including transformational leadership, staff training and development systems, motivational tools, integration of ESG values, and digital platforms. The expected outcomes include enhanced internal cohesion, adaptability, innovation capacity, and long-term competitiveness. The results provide practical implications for strategic management of corporate culture and the integration of Ukrainian agribusiness into the European economic space. The study also identifies avenues for advancing digital and patriotically-oriented management practices, and for interdisciplinary research on the impact of organizational culture on social resilience and enterprise performance.
