ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY

Abstract

The purpose of the article was to analyze the role and importance of information technologies in the implementation of logistics management methods, identify their main advantages, challenges and practical application in modern business. It was found that the use of technologies such as supply chain management systems (SCM), automated warehouses (WMS), transport management systems (TMS), as well as big data analytics platforms, significantly increases the transparency of logistics processes. It was determined that these technologies allow reducing the costs of transportation and storage of goods, reducing delivery time, automating the planning and execution of orders, and improving the accuracy of customer service. It was noted that the use of IT solutions ensures the integration of supply chain participants, which allows companies to better forecast demand, identify problem areas in logistics processes and make management decisions based on objective data. It was found that technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence significantly increase efficiency, reducing the cost of human resources, time and fuel, as well as reducing the likelihood of errors in order fulfillment. However, significant challenges to the implementation of such technologies were also identified, including the high cost of integration, the lack of qualified personnel who can work with modern information systems, as well as cybersecurity risks that can lead to financial losses and damage to the reputation of the enterprise. The study also showed that the integration of IT solutions not only improves the operational efficiency of companies, but also has a significant impact on the economic development of national economies, increasing competitiveness in the global market. It was determined that in the global context, the use of information technologies allows enterprises to adapt to changes in the digital economy and reduce the gap between developed and developing countries. Thus, the introduction of modern information technologies into logistics processes contributes not only to increasing productivity and reducing costs, but also to creating new opportunities for business development in the context of digital transformation, which is a necessary factor for achieving competitiveness in the modern globalized world.
