SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY IN UKRAINE: STATISTICAL RESEARCH USING SNA INDICATORS

Abstract

In the economic context, efficiency is understood as a comparison of the results of economic activity with the resources expended to obtain them. The aim of this article is to study economic and social efficiency at the macro level. The method of absolute and relative values, the factor analysis, and also the analysis of structural shifts is used. Economic efficiency is the final characteristic of the functioning of the national economy, being an integral indicator of efficiency at different levels of the economic system. Economic efficiency gives impetus to the growth of social efficiency, which leads to improved living standards. When studying efficiency at the macro level, the indicators of the system of national accounts are indispensable. During 2013-2016, the share of wages of employees decreased by 13.3 percentage points, after which it resumed growth. These years were the years of crisis in Ukraine's economy. In the study of social efficiency for 2013 – 2015, the largest was the impact of the extensive factor – GDP, amounting to more than ¾ of the total change in final consumer spending. Analyzing 2015-2017, it should be noted the greater influence of the intensive factor – social efficiency. The situation changed to the opposite in 2017 – 2019, when the impact of the extensive factor was again greater than the intensive one. As a part of final consumer expenditures, the share of household expenditures is the most significant, which in 2013-2019 was more than ¾. The undisputed leaders of their spending on goals were food and non-alcoholic beverages; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; transport; clothing and footwear. Considering the coefficient of structural changes in the final consumption expenditures of households, it should be noted that the most intensive changes occurred during 2015-2017 and 2017-2019. However, if in 2015-2017 the change in the direction of decrease by 2 points was demonstrated by the costs of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, in 2017-2019 the largest its change was in the direction of growth – by 2.5 points. The analysis gives grounds to argue about the deterioration of living standards of the population of Ukraine.
