THE ROLE OF TRADE UNIONS IN MAINTAINING AN ADEQUATE STANDARD OF LIVING FOR WORKERS

Abstract

The article is devoted to topical issues of determining the role of trade unions in maintaining the proper standard of living. The activity of the trade union, the estimate of its expenses, the consequences of the activity of the trade union for the workers are analyzed and the factors of innovative development are determined. The state of trade unions to date has been studied and ways to improve the situation have been suggested. The role of trade unions at both micro and macro levels is determined, the form of cooperation between public authorities and trade unions is analyzed. Theoretical bases, practical features of the role of trade unions in maintaining the proper standard of living of workers, the implementation of cooperation between the public sector and trade unions are revealed. The problems of supervision and control over the observance of legislative norms and rules on the organization of work of Ukrainian citizens and the role of trade unions in these processes are identified. The tendencies of social and economic conditions of socially useful work are analyzed. The urgency of the problem lies in the constant changes in the modern model of economy, the state defines trade unions as authorized representatives of workers who protect their labor, socio-economic rights and interests. The role of trade unions at both the micro and macro levels is important, as both public authorities work with trade unions to achieve their goals, help them build business partnerships with employers and their associations, and businesses work closely with trade unions. In our time, trade unions have taken their positions in political life, economic processes, social and spiritual and cultural programs. We observe a tendency to increase the social and educational role of trade unions in Ukraine. Therefore, analyzing the activities of trade unions in Ukraine, we can say that all socially significant events occur with the active participation and effective influence of trade unions. One of the conclusions I made in the course of my research is that the development of trade unions is relevant today. There is a need to improve their functioning. Trade union committees care about the well-being and maintenance of workers' living standards.
