TOURIST AND LOCAL HISTORY RESOURCES AND EXCURSION ACTIVITIES OF ZOLOCHIVSKIY DISTRICT OF LVIV REGION
Abstract
After the implementation of the 2020 administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine, Zolochiv district united the disbanded Brody and Buz districts and significantly expanded its territory. As of 01.01.2025, its area is 2.91 thousand km², and the length from east to west reaches about 80 km, and from north to south - 90 km. There are 277 settlements in Zolochiv district, and the population is over 162 thousand people. Zolochiv district is one of the key tourist clusters of Lviv region, and its "tourist face" is determined by the museum-castle reserves "Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region", urban and temple architecture of different eras, unique natural landscapes. The proposed study analyzes the modern and promising strategy for the development of the tourism business of the Zolochiv district of the Lviv region based on the assessment of tourism and local history resources and their use in excursion and tourism activities. In our opinion, the tourism and local history resources of the Zolochiv district form a complex and multifaceted system, the basis of which is the rich natural environment, events, material and spiritual heritage of the historical past, and the growing level of infrastructure services of local communities. Having studied the natural and historical and cultural tourism and local history resources of the Zolochiv district of the Lviv region, we classified them, determined their belonging to the classes of basic tourist objects, assessed the attractiveness and efficiency of use and excursion value. We substantiated the insufficient level and the need to improve the infrastructure services of hotel and restaurant complexes, ensuring transport accessibility as key factors of success in ensuring tourist activity in the Zolochiv district. Taking into account the potential of all main types of tourist and local history resources of the Zolochiv district of the Lviv region, the geography of their location, as well as the economic and socio-cultural benefits of the tourism business for the population, we have proposed five tourist routes: “Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region”, “Places of Father Markiyan Shashkevych”, “To the Sources of the Western Bug”, “Brodivka and Pidkamyanka Region”, “Nature of the Hologirsky and Voronyatsky Ranges” and “Pomeranian Cultural Heritage”.
