SMART TECHNOLOGIES IN TOURISM: FEATURES OF APPLICATION IN UKRAINE UNDER MARTIAL STATE
Abstract
The article examines the specific features of the application of smart technologies in Ukraine's tourism sector under martial law. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations of smart tourism, including its conceptual principles, key components, and its role within the broader process of digital transformation. Particular attention is paid to the regulatory framework and the functioning of digital infrastructure, which have become critically important amid instability and security threats. It is determined that, unlike peacetime conditions, the primary function of smart technologies has shifted from enhancing comfort and service quality to ensuring tourist safety, real-time environmental monitoring, and the rapid dissemination of information. The paper explores the practical implementation of innovative digital solutions, such as mobile applications, geoinformation systems, virtual tours, and analytical tools used for managing tourist flows. These technologies enable more flexible and adaptive management of tourism activities, especially in regions with varying levels of security. It is emphasized that digital tools support internal tourism development by providing accessible information, facilitating planning, and improving communication between stakeholders. Despite significant challenges, including infrastructure damage, uneven regional development, and financial constraints, the digitalization of tourism is accelerating and fostering resilience within the sector. Additional attention is given to the role of data-driven decision-making and the increasing importance of integrated digital platforms in coordinating stakeholders, resources, and services. The study highlights that crisis conditions stimulate innovation and encourage the adoption of efficient technological solutions. The article also outlines prospects for post-war recovery, focusing on integration into the European digital space, the development of sustainable smart solutions, and the strengthening of local governance capacities in tourism management. Overall, smart technologies are viewed as a key factor in ensuring the adaptability, safety, and long-term development of Ukraine's tourism sector.
