CIRCULAR ECONOMY AS A DETERMINANT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to theoretically and methodologically substantiate the role of the circular economy as a key determinant of the sustainable development of agricultural enterprises, as well as to develop approaches to assessing the efficiency of closed resource cycles and their impact on the effectiveness of economic activity. The research methodology is based on a combination of general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge. A systematic approach was used to identify the relationships between resource flows of agricultural enterprises and their economic performance. Content analysis, comparison, and generalization methods were used to assess the effectiveness of circular management approaches. Elements of synthesis were used to formalize the impact of closed resource cycles, enabling us to determine the nature of the relationship between circularity levels and indicators of sustainable development for agricultural enterprises. The article explores the theoretical and methodological principles underlying the formation and development of a circular economy as a key determinant of sustainable development for agricultural enterprises. It is determined that implementing the principles of a circular economy involves optimizing the use of material flows and re-engaging resources in the production cycle, thereby increasing the efficiency of agricultural enterprises. The specifics of the formation of circular business models in agriculture, which integrate production, processing, and waste disposal into a single economic system, are clarified. It is established that the use of circular approaches not only reduces production costs but also creates additional sources of economic value through the reuse of resources and diversification of economic activity. The need to develop a comprehensive analytical tool for assessing the level of circularity of agricultural enterprises is substantiated, thereby allowing for the consideration of the relationship between the efficiency of resource use and the effectiveness of economic activity. It is proven that integrating the principles of the circular economy into the management systems of agricultural enterprises creates the prerequisites for ensuring their long-term sustainability and increasing competitiveness.
